Below is a selection of new ranges that you can expect to appear on this site in the coming months following the ANA World Money Fair in Anaheim. If we can’t supply images or details yet it is because of embargo dates which we must respect. As these are lifted or more information comes to hand we will be filling this page in. We hope this will be a valuable resource for you to plan your own expenditure throughout the year so we suggest checking this page each month to see which images, release dates & details are being fleshed out. The competition to win the last coin in the series has been won by D Livingstone – Congratulations 🙂
It’s the 50th Anniversary of Gerry Anderson’s iconic Sci-Fi show Thunderbirds which blasted onto television screens in 1965. The New Zealand Mint have produced a range of silver limited edition collector’s coins to celebrate the event. The first coin in the series is now out and Minted UK are supplying anyone that signs up to collect all six coins in the series with free perspex stands for the perspex frames that the coins come packaged in. And we have just reached an agreement to run a draw along side this great offer.
Anyone that signs up to purchase the set by emailing Thunderbirds Are Go in the header of an email to firstname.lastname@example.org will go into the draw to win the final coin Thunderbird 1. The odds are very good as our allocation is relatively small and you will have a 1 in 50 chance of winning. Those that have already signed up for the series & purchased the first coin will automatically go into the draw. You must purchase the first five coins for the chance to win the last one.
The draw will take place upon the release of the last coin in the series and the winners name will be published here. We will also notify you by email.
The coins, which are to be released one a month over the next 5 month, are going to be much sort after collector’s pieces as they are limited to only 5000 a piece worldwide. The first & second coins are selling fast and we are expecting Gordon Tracy of Thunderbird 4 to arrive around the 22nd May. All those that sign up will be notified when each new coin arrives so that you will not miss out.
This draw is open to any of the countries we ship to

We have managed to get a sneak preview of the rest of coins the NZ Mint has planed for the Thunderbirds series this year. Many thanks to Mik @ AgAuNews who snapped these prototypes at the recent International Money Fair in Berlin. The coins will be issued at a spacing of approx one a month from April until September so it will give you plenty of time to save up. Have a look over at AgAuNEWS for more details.
It was wonderful for Minted UK to meet so many Doctor Who fans from all corners of the globe. It was an exciting & exhausting three days for us and we were very impressed by the costumes that many people chose to wear. We caught a couple of great images of some iconic figures in the series and one also of the NZ Mint stand which Minted-UK (wo)manned on their behalf.
It was at the 50th anniversary at ExCeL that many new items from the Doctor Who range were introduced – the first hint of the Monsters Series gave many fans a chance to vote for their favourite enemy to be minted in 1/2 oz silver. These have now been immortalised in 1/2 oz silver with the last in the series due in the UK late in June 2014. Check out our free frame offer for you to house this series – simply click on any one of the monster images and then follow the blue instructions on the page.
The TARDIS and Fob Watch sets were positively flying out and the TARDIS in particular reached a sell-out status from this event.

Wow – imagine your coin’s certificate autographed by your favourite doctor!!! Confirmed doctors attending the 3 day event so far areMatt Smith Tom Baker Colin Baker Sylvester McCoy Peter Davison
We simply can not wait for this event.
We’re especially pleased to announce we are now Authorised Resellers of products from both the New Zealand Mint and the Mint of Austria. Many of you are familiar with the New Zealand Mint through either its Kiwi and Taku bullion coins, or its numismatic products such as the blockbuster new Dr Who 50th Anniversary coin and we’ll either stock or be able to get their coins at some good prices moving forward. Less familiar to many will be the Austrian Mint. As part of the EC, the currency of Austria is the Euro and their products are denominated as such. The Philharmonic bullion coin is one of the worlds most popular, but their collectible coins are less well known in the UK and we hope to change that. A case in point is the new Prehistoric Life series of silver coins. Very affordable with some great, equally affordable collectors boxes, this mint puts out coins produced to what can only be described as being of the highest of qualities. The first prehistoric coin is absolutely superb and can’t be recommended highly enough, so much so that we have started to collect these ourself.
Our closer ties with these mints should allow us greater and earlier knowledge of upcoming products, as well as being able to offer better prices and availability. We hope you enjoy these exciting products.
