The Battle of Hastings was fought on 14 October, 1066 and began the Norman conquest of England led by William, the Duke of Normandy – later known as William the Conqueror.

The Battle of Hastings 1oz Silver Coin features a coloured illustration of the leader of the victorious invading Norman army, William the Conqueror. He stands against an antique, engraved background featuring infantry and cavalry engaged in battle.
Each coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Country of Issue – Niue.
The coin and Certificate of Authenticity are encased in an antique-looking timber box. Theme themed outer box features an illustration of the battle imposed over antiqued paper.
