Description

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – Diamond Jubilee 2012 1 Kilo Gold Proof

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – Diamond Jubilee 2012 1 Kilo Gold Proof: Immaculately presented and meticulously designed as a rightful tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee, the coin represents the ultimate in minting excellence and is quite literally a crowning achievement.

The Queen is Head of State of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms. The elder daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, she was born in 1926, and married Prince Phillip, now the Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947. Her coronation took place in Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953, and she has reigned through more than five decades of immense social change and development. Her Majesty has four children and eight grandchildren.

Reverse face

The coin’s reverse features a struck design of the St Edward’s Crown, edged by 60 diamond motifs – representing each year of Her Majesty’s reign. The inscription DIAMOND JUBILEE and the dates 1952 – 2012 are also incorporated into the design.

Obverse face

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.

Presentation

The coin is presented in a prestigious royal blue timber display case with a superbly foiled and embossed shipper, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
