- Alexander the Great: Also known as Alexander III or Alexander of Macedonia, is widely regarded as one of the finest generals in history. He showed unusual versatility both in combining different arms and in adapting his tactics to defying opponents. Alexander’s short reign marks a decisive moment in the history of Europe and Asia. His expeditions and personal interest in scientific investigation brought many advances in the knowledge of geography and natural history.
- Philipp II of Macedon: He was born in 382 BC and ruled as King from 359 to 336 BC. Philipp II of Macedon restored peace to his country and by 339 had gained domination over all of Greece. After the king’s assassination, his son Alexander III succeeded him, who was later known as Alexander the Great.
- Ptolemaios I: Also referred to as King of Egypt, was a Macedonian general and companion of Alexander the Great. Besides his military achievements, he introduced coinage to Egypt as well as establishing the famous library in Alexandria.
Obverse
The obverse carries the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on it and is issued under the authority of the Cook Islands.

Each design is presented in a capsule in CIT’s minigold collector’s box. A certificate of authenticity is enclosed.
