ANCIENT GREECE PEGASUS – 2020 Palau 12g antiqued gilded silver coin
The stater was an ancient coin used in various regions of Greece. The term is also used for similar coins, imitating Greek staters, minted elsewhere in ancient Europe.
Features Zeus who eventually stabled Pegasus (the flying horse) and tasked him with drawing the chariot of his thunderbolts.
The obverse features Pegasus, a winged horse, born from the liaison of the sea-god Poseidon and the beautiful Medusa. The liaison made the goddess Athena angry, and she cursed Medusa to be ugly and deadly. When she was killed, Pegasus sprang from her neck.
It comes presented in a cardboard collector’s box as shown and is limited to only 500 pieces. A certificate of authenticity is enclosed.
