Anubis. Anubis was a jackal-headed deity who presided over the embalming process and accompanied dead kings in the afterworld. When kings were being judged by Osiris, Anubis placed their hearts on one side of a scale and a feather (representing Maat) on the other. Anubis dictated the fate of souls. Souls heavier than a feather would be devoured by Ammit, and souls lighter than a feather would ascend to a heavenly existence

Reverse face

This legal tender bullion coin, inspired by ancient Hieroglyphics, is struck in .999+ silver, weighs 5 troy ounces. The Republic of Chad 5 oz Anubis coin features a hand-brushed antique finish with chiseled granite edge.

Obverse face

This features the Republic of Chad coat of arms, weight, denomination, year date and metal fineness.
