2012 Maple Leaf Leaning Tower of Pisa Privy

The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is one of the world’s most popular bullion coins. Almost every stacker has heard of it, or has one (or dozens!). Some years, well over 20 million of them are produced, but there have been rarities which are highly sought after by collectors.

The Royal Canadian Mint did this with a range of privy mark editions, often sold only by a single big distributor of the RCM product. A privy is a small symbolic image added to a coin to celebrate or commemorate something. In 2012 it was the turn of the legendary Leaning Tower of Pisa, sold by a big distributor in Europe. The privy mark is a small representation of the tower and it was issued to mark 25 years since it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just 50,000 of these were struck, which is a tiny fraction of the 18 million standard coins struck in 2012, and the 30 million struck in 2014.

We have a limited number of these. Some have light toning or spotting, but most are fine and we’ll send out the best to begin with and update this when that changes.
