Description
ROYAL ARMS OF ENGLAND 2018 Gibraltar 1 oz Silver Coin
ROYAL ARMS OF ENGLAND 2018 Gibraltar 1 oz Silver Coin: Launched in 2018, Scottsdale Mints ‘The Royal Arms of England’ takes a look at the heraldic history of the worlds most popular monarchy. More traditional in design than the Royal Mint series ‘Queen’s Beasts’, it’s a great looking coin, particularly this first one that resonates with the English, as the three-lions design is used by the national football team.
There’s already a selection of proof one-ounce gold and one-ounce silver versions, each of which is available with a selection of colour highlighting, but in 2018 Scottsdale issued the more populous, cleanly-struck bullion coins. Three formats are available – two in gold and one in silver. Weighing in at 6.22 grams (1/5th ounce), the small gold version is a nice touch and is supplied encapsulated. As well as this gold toddler, one-ounce coins in silver and gold are also up for grabs. The design on all three remains identical, with the obvious exception of the denomination and composition inscriptions.
Reverse face
Features the Plantagenet King Richard the Lionheart’s Royal Arms of England design – three lions passant guardant. Additional design details include a vine surrounding King Richard the Lionheart’s original design, as well as the inclusion of multiple Tudor Roses.
Obverse face
Features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Raphael Maklouf.
