The New Zealand Mint has dedicated the sixth issue of the Tarot Card series to the card with the number five in the Major Arcana – the Hierophant. The rectangular coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and features a colorful depiction of the Hierophant. The number “V” and the inscription “THE HIEROPHANT” are also part of the design.
The Hierophant card, also known as “The Pope”, represents trust in God and kindness in others. The word “Hierophant” comes from the Greek language and is translated as “Revealer of the sacred secrets”. In Tarot, the card is a signal to combine in life one’s analytical thinking with the intuition of the heart and to guide one’s actions from a firm inner conviction.

The custom-made book-style packaging provides further details of the meaning behind the card and the Certificate of Authenticity. A holographic sticker on the packaging confirms the serial number of the coin.
