Back for the 3rd time, our «Scarab» series pays tribute to the significant personalities of Ancient Egypt. The 2023 issue honours the creator of a wonder of the world, whose work remains a marvel to this day.
Khufu, best known by his Greek name Cheops, was the 2nd pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty, ruling during the 3rd millennium BC. He began work on the Great Pyramid of Giza almost immediately after assuming the throne. Estimated to have taken over 20 years to build, it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. Adorned with a glistening yellow crystal, the latest edition unveils the pharaoh’s birth name as well as his throne name in hieroglyphic form.
