AC/DC – 2021 Australia 1oz Silver: To celebrate, the Royal Australian Mint brings you a unique, electrifying silver coin.
Coins themed around popular music have been surprisingly popular over the last couple of years. The Royal Mint’s Queen and Elton John ranges have sold very well, but it is to Australian legends AC/DC we have to turn for the real popularity. Last year saw some cool ranges from CIT in Europe, that we thought were particularly innovative.
Now it’s the turn of the RAM to return to the band with a new range of coins. The one of most interest here is the one-ounce silver coin with a 30,000 mintage. Depicting band imagery rather than any specific album, it makes a great centrepiece to a collection, combining elements of many different albums with a dynamic pose by a guitar wielding musician. The record groove background field looks perfect. We can’t imagine many fans being disappointed. (see our Fender coin collection)
The coin design shoots to thrill and features the iconic parrot from the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap cover, the trademark cannon from For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) and many other features inspired by original AC/DC art.
The obverse carries the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on it, and is issued under the authority of Australia
Set in a beautiful display box. A certificate of authenticity is enclosed.
