The first coin in the collection celebrating the temperamental genius of Benedetto Pistrucci, perhaps the most mercurial engraver to have ever worked at The Royal Mint. In his pursuit of artistic perfection, Pistrucci produced what many consider his best design. The coin pays tribute to Pistrucci’s iconic St George and the dragon design, considered one of the most beautiful designs in British numismatics.
