The species depicted is a white rhinoceros, which can be recognized by the two horns. This species is the largest rhinoceros species alive today and lives mainly in the savannahs and grasslands of Africa. An adult specimen can grow up to four meters long and weigh around 1.8 tons. It is a herbivore and feeds almost exclusively on grass. Unlike many other rhino species, it is relatively sociable and often lives in small groups. Due to intensive poaching, particularly for its horns, the white rhino is highly endangered.
